Language Through Meaningful Experiences
Children use bilingual worksheets, art, and nature-based activities to learn Spanish naturally while observing, creating, asking questions, and exploring the world around them.
Observation Builds Lifelong Learners

Children learn to slow down, notice details, think critically, and reflect before they act. Observation is a lifelong skill that strengthens learning far beyond art or language.

Creativity Brings Learning to Life
Drawing, storytelling, and hands-on activities encourage children to explore ideas, express themselves, and remember what they learn in a meaningful and enjoyable way.

Nature Inspires Wonder and Respect
By discovering wildlife and the natural world, children develop curiosity, empathy, and a lasting appreciation for the environment—because we protect what we learn to love.
Meet Your Instructor

Hi, I'm Susana, founder of Canvas in the Wind.
I'm a wildlife artist from Barcelona, Spain, now living in California.
Teaching children through art has shown me that learning goes far beyond developing a new skill. Art nurtures confidence, patience, creativity, and the ability to truly observe the world around us. In today's fast-paced digital world, children rarely have the opportunity to slow down. Through art, I encourage them to observe carefully, think for themselves, ask questions, and enjoy the process of discovering. These are lifelong skills that support learning far beyond a single subject.
Living in a country where I use a second language every day has also given me a new perspective on language learning. Through my own experience, I've come to appreciate how important it is for children to feel relaxed, curious, and confident enough to communicate without worrying about making mistakes. Rather than focusing only on memorizing words, I believe children benefit most when language becomes a natural part of meaningful experiences, conversations, and creative activities.
Nature is at the heart of many of my lessons because children protect what they learn to appreciate. By discovering wildlife and the natural world, they develop not only artistic and language skills, but also respect, wonder, and a deeper connection with the environment around them.
My goal is simple: to help children become confident observers, curious learners, creative thinkers, and joyful communicators.

What Children Will Discover
At Canvas in the Wind, every lesson brings together art, nature, and language in a natural and meaningful way.
Each lesson focuses on one amazing animal, encouraging children to slow down, observe carefully, create with confidence, and discover the natural world through art.
Perfect for homeschool learning—and for any child who loves art, animals, and nature.
Every lesson helps children:
✨ Discover how light and shadow bring every animal to life.
🎨 Mix rich, vibrant colors and watch their artwork come alive.
👀 Learn to notice details that most people never see.
🦊 Discover fascinating wildlife facts and explore each animal's habitat.
🌎 Explore where animals live and discover the incredible diversity of our natural world.
🌿 Develop patience, focus, confidence, creativity, and problem-solving skills through every painting.
In Wildlife Art + Spanish, children naturally discover new Spanish words and expressions while they paint, explore, and create.
Learning to observe goes far beyond art.
It becomes a lifelong habit that helps children notice more, think more deeply, ask better questions, and approach learning with curiosity and confidence—not only in art, but in every subject and throughout life.
Choose the Experience That Fits Your Child
How Do the Classes Work?
Small groups, flexible enrollment
Classes are offered in small groups of up to 6 students. Each lesson is designed as a complete experience, so children can join a group even if they haven't attended previous classes.
New students are welcome to join throughout the year, as long as space is available.
Classes are offered in the morning and early afternoon, between 8:30 AM and 2:30 PM.
Because every child is unique, every child deserves an experience as unique as they are.
